The Position

ATAC has an opening for an Aviation Analyst – Certified Professional Controller. This is a full-time position to be performed at various locations throughout the U.S. The successful candidate will participate in the documentation of various FAA Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) projects, assisting in the development of documents, reports, and presentations required to conduct the activities related to airspace and procedure redesign.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Participation in and support for teams in their development of notional airspace and procedure redesign efforts
  • Providing support for teams in their actual design of airspace and procedure efforts throughout various phases
  • Preparing documentation of team progress and decisions, and assorted reports; maintaining and organizing various project tracking systems, such as Microsoft Project or Sharepoint.
  • Preparing required PBN program reports including: Next Generation Air Transportation system (NextGen), FAA Headquarters, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and Congressional reporting

A background check will be required for this position.

Required attributes include: 

  • Working knowledge of the regulations contained in FAA Order JO 7110.65
  • Must be an FAA Certified Professional Controller with at least 20 years working in the air traffic control profession.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal relations skills
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
Desired attributes include: 
  • Experience with NextGen systems and concepts
  • Experience with airspace, procedures or related area design and analysis
  • Experience with technical document writing and editing
