Aviation Project Manager

The Position

ATAC has an opening for an Aviation Project Manager. This is a full-time position and is located in Arlington, Virginia. The successful candidate will lead and participate in National Airspace System (NAS) analytical applications and analysis projects. In addition, they will apply and contribute to the development and maintenance of state-of-the-art aviation data analysis tools similar to the FAA’s Performance Data Analysis and Reporting System (PDARS).
Responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership of various NextGen information technology development and NAS analysis projects
  • Development of project requirements in coordination with customers
  • Development of project plans, work tasks, and deliverables
  • Project management tasks including scope, time, and cost management
  • Technical and management presentations and technical report writing
  • Supervision of project personnel, including subcontractors
  • Management of customer relationships, with a focus on complete customer satisfaction
  • Pursuit of business development and development of project proposals in coordination with business partners

A background check will be required for this position.

Qualifications

ATAC is looking for career-minded people with the potential to grow professionally, provide technical expertise and assume project management responsibilities.
Required attributes include

  • Five years of FAA program management experience including data warehousing, software application development, and information technology operational efforts;
  • Three years of FAA experience implementing Earned Value Management
  • Two years of FAA experience managing security efforts;
  • Management experience in aviation-related analysis projects involving complex analytical systems;
  • Experience with FAA SWIM data;
  • Experience with cloud-based IT systems;
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, math, or science with 15 years relevant experience;
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal relations skills;
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
