Web Architect/Designer

The Position

ATAC has an opening for a full-time Web Architect/Designer at its Headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The successful candidate will participate in projects to develop and maintain web applications for different divisions of ATAC and provide corporate marketing and business development support. Responsibilities will include:

  • All stages of web development, from concept to design and implementation to production
  • Translate business requirements into appropriate and successful user-interface designs
  • Present concepts using detailed mockups and prototypes
  • Develop design guidelines and product design consistency requirements and understand how the designs will be applied within the information architecture
  • Define site architecture, functionality, navigation, interaction, and data flows
  • Design, visualize and develop creative and effective user interfaces for interactive web applications
  • Work collaboratively with creative and technical team members in developing middleware and back-end functionality
  • Process feedback and input from user experience
  • Administer web sites, manage web content and provide web user support
  • Design and create effective and engaging graphics to support corporate proposals and marketing collateral development.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in web design, content management, computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years practical, on-the-job experience.
  • Proven mastery of visual design principles as they apply to web user interfaces and practical knowledge of user centered design.
  • Expertise in current Internet standards, including web browsers, browser specifications and accessibility law.
  • Understanding of dynamic or active web content and the use of web scripting languages and database interaction.
  • Proficiency in the following areas: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, FrameMaker, Premiere, Flash
  • Strong understanding of Internet technologies including DBs, CMSs, e-commerce, client-server, and front-end technologies like html5, JavaScript, JQuery, xml, Maven, and command line codes
  • Proficiency in Developer tools including Liferay Developer Studio, Eclipse, UltraEdit, and Node.js
  • Fluent in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design for multi-tiered architectures.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in configuring SharePoint front-ends
  • Experience in supporting the corporate marketing team in designing and producing: marketing material, corporate presentations, graphics for business proposals, and trade show graphics
  • Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal relations skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Project Management Professional (PMP) project management certification is a plus.
