Integration of Real-Time Analytics Capability with NASA’s Digital Services for Aviation Platform SBIR
ATAC’s research significantly enhances the state-of-the-art in real time aviation data analytics by infusing ATAC’s SBIR-developed Big Data Aviation Analytics capabilities into NASA efforts to create digital services for aviation. By integrating ATAC SBIR analytics capabilities with new NASA data streams (e.g., ATD-2 Fuser), the resulting architecture provides a richer aviation data set from which to provide analytics services that are currently unavailable. The resulting integrated Aviation Real Time Analytics capability benefits multiple NASA projects: ATD digital services for aviation, ISSA in-time safety assessment, ATM-X Test-Bed, and Sherlock ATM Data Warehouse.
Due to the FAA’s System Wide Information Management (SWIM) and other programs, a massive amount of temporal data is now available but sits un-analyzed. Our work potentially holds the key to unlocking a set of hitherto undiscovered trends within this data that may be valuable for NAS efficiency-enhancement and aviation safety-assurance.
